Glasstown's first mural was done by Sam Donovan in 1998. Little did he know that many other murals would follow throughout the years. In addition to our murals, the Glasstown Arts District offers a dozen galleries/studios, the Levoy Theatre, upscale and casual dining restaurants, and several shops with artisan crafts for sale.
Our Mural Arts Walking Tour is a self-guided, exploration of our cherished neighborhood. The tour is designed in a sequence that travels from north to south, but can be started at any mural location, or navigated in a reverse order.

"The Gateway Mural" is at the Corner of High and Broad Streets. Designed and painted by Marcos Monteiro of Mayslanding, NJ. It was created in 2016 and measures 90 by 30 feet. It represents the people and culture of Millville, New Jersey. The mural was commissioned by the Holly City Development Corporation and implemented by the Millville Development Corporation.

"Dining Al Fresco" was created in May 2020 by artist Maryann Cannon. It represents the lunching and dining experience at Wildflower Cafe at the same location. The artist is the owner of this property and wanted an uplifting art project during the early months of the COVID Pandemic.

430-432 N. High Street
This mini mural was created in September 2019 by artist Maryann Cannon. It is located between 430 and 432 N. High Street. It was commissioned by the Millville Development Corporation to beautify a narrow gate that separates the two buildings. It represents Cannon's husband, Gene, and their dog, Gigi. Funding for this mural was from a Main Street New Jersey grant.

"Building the Arts District" was created in June 2012 and refreshed in 2020 by artist Maryann Cannon. It is located on the side of 415 N. High Street. It was commissioned by the Millville Development Corporation to increase public art. The depiction of fairies assisting a business owner embraces the spirit of the arts movement.

"Sunrise on the Maurice River" is a glass and tile mosaic created in August 2017 by artist Mary Tantillo, owner of Swell Colors Glass Studio in Ocean County. It is located on the side of the building at 14 E. Mulberry Street. The mural was commissioned by the Holly City Development Corporation.

"Early 20th Century on High Street" was created in August 2018 by artist Maryann Cannon. It is located on the side of 113 N. High Street. It was commissioned by the Holly City Development Corporation and depicts life in Millville prior to automobiles being the main mode of transportation.

"The Arts" was created by artist David Baird in March 2016 on the front of 104 N. High Street. It was commissioned by the owner of Winfield's Restaurant located next door. It depicts many of the arts in the Glasstown Arts District including the culinary arts.

"On the Banks of the Maurice River" is an 8-panel mural created by artist Danielle Cartier and installed in May 2023. It is located on the Glasstown Plaza at the corner of High and Sassafras Streets. The mural's vibrancy is the perfect backdrop for live music performance that occur on Third Fridays in warm weather. "Tile the Town" mural is located on the rear of the Riverfront Renaissance Center for the Arts, 22 N. High Street. It is a compilation of tiles in excess of one-foot square painted by a variety of artists from the Tile the Town art competition. It was installed in 2019 and funded by the Millville Development Corporation.

"Music in the Tunnel" was created by artist Kenneth Faulk, aka Lazan, in August 2019. It is located in the tunnel between 19 and 23 N. High Street. The mural was commissioned by the Millville Development Corporation and funded by a grant from New Jersey Main Street.

"ACE Teens Mural" was created by the summer art camp teen group of Art Creates Excellence in July 2021. The teens were led by artist Kenneth Faulk, aka Lazan, to design, draw, and paint a mural that depicts images from their imaginations. It is located in the tunnel between 19 and 23 N. High Street. It was funded by Millville Development Corporation's summer camp budget.

12 S. High Street
"Wall of Remembrance" was the first public art mural created in the City of Millville. It was dedicated in April 1998 after George M. Curio led fundraising drives to hire a renowned artist to create the tribute to Millville's past during WWII. The original design illustrates two versions of the Republic P-47 "Thunderbolt" fighter plane used at the Millville Army Air Field. The aircrafts fly majestically before the image of a combat garbed WWII fighter pilot. The pilot represents Millville's 14 fallen pilots and all WWII pilots who gallantly served this country to preserve the freedom we enjoy today. It is located on the north side of City Hall at 12 S. Main Street. Artist Sam Donovan of Woodstown, NJ, continues to create murals at the Millville Army Air Field Museum and the region.
