Carlisle Machine Works has been part of the Millville business community since 1918. It makes gas burners and machined parts that support industry both in Millville and around the world.
Carlisle is a full service machine shop serving the local community. And they supply equipment for flame treatment of glass and plastics. Their burners, conveyors and machine parts are used around the globe.
“We are many things to many people,” says co-owner Mary Dougherty. “Carlisle Machine serves industrial, scientific and artistic clientele. Our family has been in the glass business over four generations, so we understand the complexities and develop custom solutions that streamline manufacturing,” she says.
The operation is run from their 20,000 square-foot facility on Wade Boulevard and includes Carlisle School of Glass Art – a dynamic community of artists, mentors and students of glassmaking.
“We remain enthusiastic about glass and consider ourselves a partner in the industry's renaissance,” Mary says.
