Millville Means Business Profile

A fun family place, is how owner Tina Gillam describes her Tina’s Hair Salon, LLC at 26 North High Street. “It’s really a family. We have two sets of mothers and daughters working here. It’s friendly and we have a good time. You have to have a sense of humor to work here and our clients love it,” she says.

Today’s Tina’s has seven chairs, seven stylists and two celebrity mascots – Ben and Zoe are half Pekinese, half Shih Tzu. “They greet everyone who comes and bark goodbye when they leave. Ben has a human name because he thinks he’s human. I’ll take them for a walk in the park and people recognize them. Even if they don’t recognize me,” Tina says.

Originally from Bridgeton, Tina has been a Millville hair stylist nearly three decades. She worked at B&B Barbershop through its growth and relocations. But like many stylists, she had the dream of owning her own place. Through hard work and dedication, she made it happen in 2015. “It was destined to be,” she says.

For all her contributions to the community, Tina earned a Greater Millville Chamber of Commerce Pride in Millville Arts District Award in 2022. “That was a great honor,” she says.
